"The only thing that is ultimately real about your journey is the step that you are taking at this moment. That’s all there ever is."
~ Eckhart Tolle
The past has happened and can't be changed. The future has yet to happen. All you have is this moment called "right now" (RN) which is like riding precariously at the very tip of a huge roaring wave rushing violently toward the shore in a never-ending loop with no beginning or end.
The square at the center of this drawing represents you as a two dimensional shadow moving through time in three dimensional space at the moment of RN. The other squares represent all that you are – your thoughts, your dreams, your loves, your hates, your emotions, your feelings, your fears, your senses, your actions, etc. – as individual events, permanently pinned in the past to their RN moment in time and place in three dimensional space. The squares closest to the center (you) just happened; the further they are from the center, the later they occurred from your RN.
While the events look like particles, I actually think of those events as points on a wave (like light) since they all feel like they stream continuously from our birth to our death.
RN can't ever be recorded or captured or predicted. So this drawing represents a zeptosecond (a trillionth of a billionth of a second) after the moment of RN.
Because all we ever really have is RIGHT NOW.
