The Blinding Darkness of…

The title of this piece originally named 'A Darkness' – MY darkness – but it didn't feel right to me. After a while of letting it rattle around in my head and my heart, I understood why: everyone's darkness is different:

• Abuse
• Addiction
• Anxiety
• Bigotry
• Depression
• Disease
• Hate
• Heartbreak
• Ignorance
• Inequality
• Insomnia
• Loss
• Mental health
• Oppression
• Racism
• Stress
• Violence

The list is infinitely long, nuanced, and varied. So instead of a static title anchoring it to my individual darkness, I've left it open so you can bring meaning to it for yourself.
