Circles with Circles; Monochrome Edition - Original

This was my first attempt at a full-sized circle piece.

These pieces are typically in color, and have multiple steps:

• Draw the outer circles
• Draw the multiple inner circles
• Fill in the blank spaces with black
• Color each circle and sub-circle
• Apply shadowing

After drawing all the outer and inner circles for this piece, I started to fill in the blank spaces with black. And I was so taken by how that was expressing itself in the art… I just went with it. And that's what you see here.
