NFTs – non-fungible tokens – establish definitive ownership of a digital asset: an image, audio, video, etc.

And while those assets can be copied, shared, and distributed, there previously wasn't a way of proving ownership of the "original".

An NFT is an address on a blockchain (e.g., Etherium, Deso, etc.) establishing provenance of a digital asset; its authenticity and owner.
